Over the past few years bread has been gathering a rather negative reputation among the health-conscious community. But for millions of people, whose life is away from gluten-free tags, bread remain a staple food which is sometimes consumed during every meal of the day, as it has been for centuries.
The way bread is made commercially nowadays is indeed a reason to ring an alarm about what is going inside our bellies. But if we look at traditional home preparation of bread around the world, it might paint a different picture.
We decided to take a peek into the bakeries and bread shops around the world which still follow traditional means of preparation. Here is our gallery: take a look how bread is being made and sold in 27 countries around the world.
Many countries presented above are home to cuisines, which vary significantly regionally, so it is by no mean a comprehensive collection of types of breads in selected countires, but rather a small introduction!
