This is a healing, aromatic, soothening to the nerves anti-inflammatory tea that can me made with both fresh and dry turmeric and ginger along with other spices.


  • 1/2 inch to 1 inch True Cinnamon/ Ceylon Cinnamon

  • 1 Star anise

  • 1/4 tsp ground Black peppercorns

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric paste or Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste or Ginger powder

  • 1/8 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Honey

  • 1 tsp fresh Lemon juice

  • 500 ml Water


  • Boil the water and add cinnamon and star anise
  • When the water has come to a boil add turmeric and ginger. You can substitute the fresh turmeric and ginger paste with dried turmeric and dried ginger powder, if fresh ingredients are unavailable.
  • Boil for 2 to 3 minutes and turn off the heat. Allow the ingredients to steep in hot water for about 5 minutes
  • Add a pinch of salt, this helps in adding some alkalinity to the tea. Both lemon juice and turmeric will make your tea acidic.
  • Add honey or any sweetener of your choice.
  • Add a dash of lemon juice and your turmeric tea is ready.
