Sesame seeds are a great source of copper and beneficial minerals – and it is so easy to include in your diet with this easy and delicious recipe! It doesn’t contain refined sugar, but gives you instant energy and can satisfy the strongest craving for sweets. The best part – it only needs 3 ingredients to prepare.
Ingredients
- sesame seeds – 1 cup
- jaggery/panela – 1 cup
- ghee or coconut oil – 1/2 tsp
Method
Step 1. Roast sesame seeds on medium heat for about 5 minutes, without oil, stirring continuously. When ready remove them from the pan.
Step 2. Grease the pan with ghee or oil. Grate jaggery if it is not crushed already and melt in the pan, stirring continuously to prevent sticking.
Step 3. When jaggery obtains a structure of uniform liquid add sesame seeds to the pan and mix together nicely.
Step 4. Remove the mixture from the pan, put it on baking paper, flatten it with a rolling peen and cool it down for 20 minutes. Before the mixture becomes too hard cut it in equal squares. If you prefer you can also give your sesame sweet a shape of a ball (ladoo). Your sesame sweet brittle or ladoo will be ready when it becomes completely firm. You can carry it with you for an instant energy boost or enjoy at home with a cup of chai!
